Patient Update

keeping you informed

We would like to provide a clear update for our patients about recent developments within the practice.

As you may be aware, a number of our GPs have recently moved on to new opportunities, with some further changes ahead. As a result, we are actively recruiting new permanent doctors for the practice - one has already joined us, and further interviews are taking place shortly. Our focus is firmly on developing a strong, stable team for the future.

In the meantime, to ensure appointments remain available and to prevent long waiting times, experienced locum GPs and additional clinicians are supporting the practice. These fully qualified clinicians are working on our behalf to help reduce any backlog and maintain access to care while recruitment continues.

We understand how important continuity of care is, and restoring this remains a key priority as our new team becomes established. During this transition, some patients may notice appointments being delivered by different clinicians than previously, or contact from alternative numbers in relation to certain appointments. These are temporary arrangements to ensure safe and timely access for all patients. Where appropriate, we have contacted patients by text to keep them informed.

We are also working closely with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following their recent visit, and with our commissioner, the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB), to support ongoing improvements and continued clinical leadership development within the practice.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that our practice team are members of your local community. They work every day to support patients during what are often very busy and challenging periods. We understand that people may sometimes feel frustrated, particularly during times of change, and we always welcome constructive feedback when shared through the appropriate channels. However, we kindly ask that all interactions, whether in person or online, remain respectful. Personal criticism can have a real impact on the wellbeing of our staff. Maintaining a supportive and respectful environment is important in helping us retain and develop the dedicated team our community relies upon. Your kindness and consideration are greatly appreciated.

Our team remains fully committed to providing safe, effective care during this period of change. We recognise that transitions can sometimes feel unsettling, again we are grateful for your patience and understanding as we continue to strengthen and develop the practice for the future.
