Featured as one of the top 10 park run’s in the UK and Worldwide by the Guardian newspaper “Nicknamed “Beauty and the Beast”, this route rewards runners with  spectacular views after a 210-metre ascent. Whinlatter is one of England’s only true mountain forests, with a route though Douglas fir trees. With a red squirrel reserve and osprey nesting in the valley, it’s also a great area for spotting wildlife.

You don’t need to be an experienced runner and walking is perfectly fine, bring your dog if you like!  Parkrun’s are free, sociable and an excellent way to stay healthy. More details are available on the Parkrun website
